Monday to Sunday
1) Secrets of Baronia: The Nuraghi and the stories of Grazia Deledda
Monday – morning
Departing at 8:30 am, from the Hotel S’Ortale after a good breakfast, for the first stop on our tour: the nuraghe of Osala located in the most scenic vantage point of Orosei. A beautiful example of a coastal nuraghe built by the mysterious Nuragic civilisation, the ancient Bronze Age civilisation dating back 3,500 years, which built more than 7,000 nuraghi across Sardinia. At the end of the visit, we head towards Monte Tuttavista, where we will drive in our Land Rovers to discover its precious biodiversity and admire the beautiful views over the Cedrino river plain, where the famous novel by Grazia Deledda (Sardinia’s most important writer and the first Italian ever to win the Nobel Prize for literature in 1926) was set. We will also visit the area’s most beautiful natural monument: Sa Petra Istampata. The last stop on the tour is the village of Galtellì, home to the Grazia Deledda Literary Park and one of the 100 most beautiful villages in Italy, where we can visit the old town centre and the small but very important ethnographic museum to see the ancient agricultural tools used to process grain.
Returning to Orosei around 1:00 – 1:30 pm.

2) The Biderosa Oasis and the most beautiful beaches of Orosei and Baronia
Tuesday
Departing at 8:30 am from the Hotel S’Ortale after a good breakfast, in a 4×4 vehicle towards the Biderosa Oasis. From the off-road vehicle we can admire the lake of “Sa Curcurica” and then arrive at the beach surrounded by beautiful granite hills, thousand-year-old juniper trees and washed by the crystal clear sea. After a few hours of relaxation, and lunch, we will take an exciting off-road trip to the ancient lighthouse of Capo Comino to admire the enchanting panorama that sweeps from the Island of Tavolara to the cliffs of the Gulf of Orosei. The next stop will be the beach of Capo Comino, famous for its beautiful white sand dunes, where we will take our last refreshing swim. Here we can enjoy an ice cream or a cold beer before heading back home.
Returning to the hotel around 5:00 pm.

3) Orgosolo by 4X4: the Murals, the mountains and lunch with one of the last shepherds of the “Supramonte”.
Wednesday
Departing at at 8:30 am from the Hotel S’Ortale after a good breakfast, off-road to the village of Orgosolo. The village, sadly known in the past for its banditry, is now one of the most important villages in Barbagia due to its culture and rich traditions, its Murals and its priceless natural heritage. After visiting the historic centre to admire the Murals, we reach the mountains of Supramonte. After crossing the meadows of Pratobello, a short walk will take us to the summit of Monte S. Giovanni at 1,316 m. Afterwards, we will have lunch at the shepherd’s traditional sheepfold, called “Su Pinnetu” in the Sardinian language, surrounded by a wood of thousand-year-old holm oaks. All the food is produced directly by the shepherd and his family, and we will have the opportunity to taste some typical dishes from our pastoral tradition: boiled sheep and roast suckling pig, “Su Porcheddu”; and to drink, the famous Cannonau wine and Sardinian brandy, “Filu ‘e Ferru”.
Returning to Orosei around 5:00 – 5:30 pm.

5) 4X4 tour between Land and Sea
Thursday
Departing at 8:30 am from the Hotel S’Ortale after a good breakfast, by off-road vehicle to Sos Alinos. Tour exploring the beautiful granite hills around Orosei, in the territory of Baronia. We will visit a “Domus de Janas”, an ancient prehistoric tomb dating back to the Sardinian Neolithic period, about 4500 years BC. Later the tour will take us to visit the lands of the shepherds and the pass of “Istiotha” with its beautiful view of the
Gulf of Orosei. We will then head towards the sea to the beach of Capo Comino with its beautiful dunes, one of the most enchanting in the Mediterranean, where you can take a refreshing swim in its crystal clear waters and have a cool drink before returning to the hotel.
Returning to Orosei around 1:30 pm.

6) Trekking in Supramonte to Cala Luna, Gorropu or Tiscali
Friday, Saturday or Sunday
Departing at 8:30 am from Hotel S’Ortale in Orosei, after a good breakfast. We head off in our off-road vehicles towards Supramonte where our beautiful treks begin. According to demand, we will visit the most
beautiful and famous trekking destinations in Sardinia: the Gorropu Canyon, the beautiful Cala Luna beach or the fascinating nuragic village of Tiscali.
Returnng to Orosei around 4:00 – 4:30 pm.
